Borneo has many cultures and religions. Every people have right to choose their religion base on their faith and believe. But base on quantity most of them are Moslem. So, in Borneo there are many religion palaces such as big mosque, small mosque (surau/langgar and moshala).

A few of them are popular in Borneo societies. Here some of popular mosque in Borneo :

Sabilal Muhtadin Mosque

Sabilal Muhtadin mosque is the main mosque in Banjarmasin, capital city of South Kalimantan. This mosque located near park side of Martapura river, park mascot and also near with center city.

The mosque was build for appreciate to great scholar is Syekh Muhammad Arsyad Al-Banjari and his service. This mosque can accommodate up to 15.000 people with divided to 7.500 inside and 7.500 in out side (in yard). It's build in 1981 AD.

Suriansyah Prince Mosque

Sultan Suriansyah Mosque or Kuin Mosque is a historical mosque in Banjarmasin city that is the older mosque in South Kalimantan. This mosque build in Suriansyah Prince governance era at 1526 AD - 1550 AD who was the first Banjar king that accept Islam.

Kuin mosque is one of three older mosque in Banjarmasin beside Jami mosque and Basirih mosque. This mosque located in North Kuin village. Suriansyah Prince mosque that build in side of Kuin river has Banjar Traditional Architecture with stage construction and layering roof.

Al-Karomah Mosque

Al-Karomah mosque is one of the biggest mosque in South Kalimantan that located in Martapura city. This mosque is mark land of Martapura city because it is easy to access and recognize by people also build in side of A. Yani street.

The Karomah was call as Jami Martapura mosque or Martapura great mosque. Before reconstructed in December 5th, 1897 AD this mosque was build with wooden material and also had iron wood (local : Ulin wood) pillar.

Jamek Negeri Serawak Mosque

This mosque located in Petra Jaya, Kuching. It's built in 1987 AD until 1990 AD. Jamek Negeri Serawak mosque is unique and can accommodate up to 10,000 people in one time. This mosque adopted by Istanbul mosques concept.

In there, colorful glasses decorate wall of mosque contaminated with golden marbles in the floor. The towers constructive separately with the mosque. It's also build in that complex of building additional building such as conference hall, library and mosque staff office space.

Singkawang Great Mosque

Singkawang Great mosque is one of the oldest mosque in West Kalimantan Province, Indonesia, exactly located in Singkawang city. In 1870 AD, Captain Bawahasib Marikan, a new comer from Clerical District, Calcutta - India, came to Singkawang for sell diamond (Marjan). In 1875 AD, he candidate by Dutch Governance in Indonesia as Captain in Singkawang.

In 1885 AD, he build great mosque in Pasar Baru Singkawang area. This mosque side by side with  Chines community. Although side by side, they live harmonious and peace. In 1927 AD, was an great fired and burned a lot of buildings, include the Great mosque and chines community.

Only after 1949 AD the location could rebuild again and the area of mosque was expended and renovated until now.

Puruk Cahu Grand Mosque

Puruk Cahu Grand mosque is located in Puruk Cayu, Murung Raya Regency, Central Kalimantan.

Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque

Omar Ali Saifuddien mosque was built in Februari 1954 AD. This is one of the historical mosque in Brunei. it is built by the late of 28th sultan in Brunei, which is Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin during his region. This Mosque is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Bandar seri Begawan. This mosque can up accommodate to 3,000 people. Architecture of this mosque is combination of Mughal with Italian style.

The mosque built above of artificial pond and lagoon side the Brunei river in Kampong Ayer. This mosque has marble tower with golden doom. Also completely with garden and fountain. This garden decorate around the mosque symbolized to paradise garden. In there also a bridge connecting the mosque and Kampong Ayer and a bridge from marble connecting to repletion of Mahligai kingdom boat belong to Sultan Bolkiah.

The unique of this mosque is doom with pure golden layer and has high 52 meter (171 foot). So, this mosque can see from corner of Bandar Seri Begawan city

Negeri Sabah Mosque

Negara Sabah mosque is one of Sabah and Malaysia community pride. This primer mosque not only be proud by moslem society but also for non moslem too. This is caused by many of other religion interest to worldof architecture  visit this mosque. Negara Sabah mosque firstly build in 1974 AD located in Tunkau Abdul Rahman street of Sembulan, Kinabalu. The mosque has spectacular construction with magnificent dome and designed with honeycomb pattern of high artistic value.

Samarinda Grand Mosque

Darussalam Grand mosque has Ottoman Empire nuances where located in Samarinda capital city of East Kalimantan. This mosque similar with other Kalimantan mosques close with side of Mahakam river. Darrusalam is the second great mosque in Samarinda after Islamic Center Samarinda. It's can recognize from far away with four highly tower in four side of the mosque and a big greenly dome in center roof of mosque.

Islamic Center Samarinda is a mosque that located in Teluk Lerong Ulu, Samarinda city, East Kalimantan. This mosque is grandest and the second biggest in Southeast Asia after Istiqlal Jakarta mosque. In foreground saw side of Mahakam river.
