Rampah Sungai Karuh Water Fall

A. Introduction

Rampah Sungai Karuh water fall is tourism destination that located in Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency. This water fall located in forest area where still reserve by local society for sustainability of ecosystem. The water fall have 200 meters high with 75 degree the slope of the field.

D. Route to the Location

From Syamsudin Noor Air Port, Banjarbaru

1. If you come to Kalimantan Selatan by air plane, you will take off in Syamsudin Noor Airport.
2. From the airport, take Ojek to main street or use taxi. It’s need for 10 – 15 minutes.
3. In main street wait or find Town Taxi (in Banjarmasin called as Motor Coll) and take in to Barabai, main city of Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency. By that transportation need 4 – 5 hour to arrive in Barabai.
4. After you are arrive in Barabai, take a rest to the hotel. There are many hotels in Barabai. You can ask ojek or Becak to the nearly or suitable hotel for you. If you want reach the last village quickly, you should take ojek to go to Batu Kambar (Hinas Kiri) Village.
5. From Barabai city, if you just alone or with small group people ( 2 or 4 person) find ojek who can take you to Batu Kambar Village. But if you with big group (more than 4 person) I suggest you to go by pedestrian taxi or rental car. By those transportation, you will need 1.30 – 2 hour until you can reach that village.
6. After that, you must walk to the location. It’s need 6 - 7 hour. Because it long journey, I recommend you to stay 1 night. So, it’s necessary for you to bring out door equipment such as tent, cooking set, outdoor clothes, private and general medicine.

From Trisakti Harbor Banjarmasin

1. From Tri Sakti Harbor take taxi to Pal 6 Terminal. Use “coll” taxi that bring you to Barabai city. It’s need about 4 – 5 hours on the road.
2. Go to part d until the end above.

From Kotabaru

If you come from Kota Baru, you have two route to reach Barabai.

1. First, use Tanah Bumbu – Kandangan route. This is nearest. You can save time to arrive in Barabai city. Although this is nearest but transportation quite rare and the route mostly silent.
2. Second, use Tanah Bumbu – Tanah Laut – Banjarbaru – Barabai route. This is long distance. Generally need 8 – 10 hours until reach Barabai city. But it busy transportation pathways. Use inter-city transportation district.
3. In Barabai, take route above (d – f).

From East Kalimantan

1. Take route East Kalimantan – Tabalong (Tanjung City) – Balangan (Paringin City) – Barabai. Generally you can take land transportation by bus to arrive in Barabai city.
